Here we go again spring concrete delivery one of the best times of the work year for concrete suppliers and concrete masonry contractors to get thing done before the summer goes into full swing.
Its the time of year that the concrete needs less water to become ready mixed concrete. This also allows for a better finishing result because of the fact that the concrete will not dry as fast as it would during the hot summers heat.
The same is true of lightweight concrete delivery, the water use in the spring is much less greater then that used in the summertime.
One thing to always remember is that the hire pounds per square inch the concrete mix is the quicker it will dry so keep this in mind while having the driver mix the load. For instance on a 3000 psi load of concrete you will need less water to mix and execute a proper even mix. For a 4000 psi mix you will burn a lot more water then at the lower psi.
It also helps if the driver does not mix the load of concrete at full speed. What happens at full speed is that all the concrete will stick to the sides from the force of the rotation of that barrel at full speed. Now lets say that we cranked the barrel at half the speed the concrete would the fall off the side and crash over the water in the middle of the barrel making a nice even ready mix concrete product ready to be served!!
